Anyone can start counselling; no concern is too small

Whether your child is navigating something specific or just feeling generally overwhelmed, therapy can be adapted to meet your child and family where you are - from short-term support to more ongoing, in-depth work.

What to Expect in Therapy

Your child’s first session is an opportunity to understand what may be contributing to their challenges, as well as their strengths, needs, and goals. We take time to get to know your child in a way that feels comfortable and appropriate for their age and development.

Counselling for children often looks different than therapy for adults. Sessions may include play-based activities, conversation, and skill-building to help children express themselves, manage emotions, and navigate challenges in a way that feels natural to them.

We work to create a safe, supportive environment where children feel comfortable and understood. Depending on your child’s needs, therapy may also involve parent collaboration to support progress at home and in daily life.

Therapy is not one-size-fits-all. We take a holistic approach drawing from a variety of evidence-based approaches to support the whole person, including thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and relationships.
